Thank you once again for all your time and effort you put into Alex's video. I can tell by the finished product the special attention and detail you put into it. I know he will appreciate it as much as I do. You have been a dream to work with and I admire your drive and perfectionism in your work....I hope you know you will be hearing from me and all my friends in the near future.
Thanks,

Personalized Movie

  1. What is a Personalized Movie?
We make the movie from all the raw video footage you provide. We find the best parts of your footage and edit it all together into a concise, fun-to-watch movie complete with opening credits and closing credits. Your movie will have professional edits, classy transitions between scenes, and it will be set to background music. You are the movie stars in this production!
  2. How long does it take to get a Personalized Movie?
It depends on how much footage you provide. It usually takes two weeks to complete a project with about 5 hours of footage. Some times of the year are busier than others.
  3. I know what kind of movie I want you to create. How do I communicate this to you?
After you place an order, we will direct you to a page in our website (Client Questionnaire) where  you can specify your preferences, like music choices, type of movie, and special instructions. We will be in close contact before and during the completion of your movie so we know exactly what you want. We can further communicate over email or by phone.
How long will the movie be?
It depends on how much and the content of footage you provide. For example, six hours of footage from your family over a year could translate into a movie between 20-40 minutes.
  4. What is the highlight reel?
This is a different movie than your Personalized Movie, but all the clips we use in the highlight reel come from your original movie. We take the very best footage, and create an artistic movie: black and white, in slow motion, and set to music. It's about 5 minutes in length. This is usually the favorite movie and it evokes the most emotion.
  5. Is there a minimum and maximum amount of footage you need to make the movie?
We need at least 30 minutes of footage. We're not limited by a maximum number, but if you have a lot of footage and desire a long movie, we may have to divide it onto two DVD's to retain the best quality.
  6. What kind of home video tapes do you accept?
We can accept VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, digital8 (8mm), mini-DV, and DVD. If you have media we don't support, you can contact a video transfer company to transfer your media. You can look in the phone book or use a search engine to find a company. We cannot use video footage captured with a digital camera.
  7. Do you accept 8mm reels?
We can accept your 8mm reels, but we send them out to a company for transferring.

Moving Photo Montage

  1. What is the Moving Photo Montage?
It is a moving version of your pictures or images that play as a movie on your DVD player. It's similar to a slide show, but the camera pans and zooms over your pictures and images, just like Ken Burns did in his award-winning documentaries. The feature makes your pictures come alive and they tell a story. When we add music the effect is even more powerful. In addition, we use animation in your beginning, throughout, and at the end of your movie, which makes your movie amazing! You can also add short video clips to your photo montage as long as you specify the start and end time of each clip. It's a great way to store your pictures and to view your pictures, instead of flipping through a photo album.
  2. Do you give a discount if my images are digital?
The regular price includes digital images.
  3. Do you pan & zoom over my pictures?
Yes. Check out the Samples page to see what happens when the camera pans and zooms over your pictures and images, just like Ken Burns did in his award-winning documentaries. The feature makes your pictures come alive and they tell a story.
  4. Can I add captions to my pictures, and if so, how many can I add?
You can add as many captions as you like, although it's best to limit them.
  5. How long will the Moving Photo Montage be?
It depends on how many images you provide. It averages about five seconds a picture plus animation in the beginning, middle, and end of your movie.
  6. Is there a minimum and maximum number of pictures you need to make a Moving Photo Montage?
We can fit about 1000 pictures onto one DVD.
  7. What format should my digital images be in and how do I give them to you?
We accept almost all digital formats. It's important your photos be in order, so when you burn them to a CD, make sure the file names are in alphabetical order. It is also possible to e-mail your pictures to us as our server can handle it.

Ordering

  1. How do I order?
Visit the Order page and fill out the order form. You can also purchase a gift certificate for someone.
  2. What are the steps involved in ordering?
After you submit the order form you can fill out the client questionnaire. Then you will receive an email indicating we received your order and an estimated time frame for the completion of your project. You may then send us your deposit to reserve your exclusive spot on our project calendar.
  3. I'm nervous about sending my video footage to you. Will you take care of it?
Absolutely! We know your video footage is valuable...you've captured so many memories. We are committed to building trust with our clients. We will make sure all your materials are labeled when we receive them, and we are meticulously organized. Furthermore, the greatest care is taken when we handle your video tapes. Some video tapes are in poor quality. If you have tapes that are damaged, you may consider taking them to a tape repair service. If you have a tape that is old or in poor shape, and we cannot work with it, we will let you know.

Payments

  1. How much does a Personalized Movie and a Moving Photo Montage cost?
Each Personalized Movie costs $300 plus $300 for each hour of raw video footage you provide to us. For example, you have five camcorder tapes and each tape is one hour. You go through and watch each tape while recording the start and end times of your favorite scenes on a form like this. When you finish going through all your footage, add up the amount of time you want us to watch & edit into a movie. So if you cut down your raw footage from five hours to 30 minutes, your movie would cost $450. If you don't have the time to go through all your footage first, we will certainly do the legwork for you! (A deposit of $300--which is applied to the cost of your project--is necessary to reserve your exclusive position on our project calendar.)

The cost of your Moving Photo Montage depends on how many pictures or documents you have.
    $250 70 pictures or less
    $325 71-100 pictures
    $375 101-150 pictures
    $425 151-200 pictures
    $475 201-250 pictures
    $525 251-300 pictures
(if you have over 300 pictures, each additional picture is $1.00)
$5.00 for each short video clip with a start & end time (so no editing is required)
(A deposit of $150--which is applied to the cost of your project--is necessary to reserve your exclusive position on our project calendar.)
Shipping charges and tax (WA residents) apply.
  2. Are there any surprise fees?
We really hate to be nickel and dimed too and most of what we do is included in the cost of your movie. There are a few things that you can pay us to do it you're short on time. All additional fees, except shipping and tax can be avoided. You can pay us for the following:
-If your materials are out of order and we need to organize them, we charge a fee. This should be incentive to organize!
-If you send more materials than you want us to use in your movie because you want us to decide which materials to use, we charge a Sort Fee.
-If you give us photos in photo albums, we charge a fee to remove them.
-You are able to preview your movie and we will make whatever edits or changes you want to see. This is free of charge for your first preview. We will make the changes and you'll preview the movie again to make sure we did everything you asked. If you then decide to make more changes, every edit will be $5 or the hourly editing fee, depending on the
complexities of your requests. In addition, if you decide to add more materials (photos or footage) that you didn't originally submit, you can do so at a $15 fee.
-If you need your project done quickly (under 7 days), there is a rush fee of $50.
  3. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and debit cards through PayPal, or you can pay by personal check or money order.
  4. What is PayPal?
PayPal is a company who provides us with the means to accept credit cards. They offer secure transactions, it's free for you to use, and they keep all your information private. You don't have to have an account with PayPal to use the service. They have over 56 million accounts and it's an easy way to exchange money. You can get more information at their website: PayPal.

If you do not provide us with the music we will use music for which we own the license or we will purchase music for you (included in the price of your movie).
